Decoding and realigning incentives that determine our future
AI Objectives Institute (AOI) focuses on harnessing the potential of large-scale systems, including AI, markets, and bureaucracies, to advance humanity's interests.
Founded by the late internet pioneer Dr. Peter Eckersley, the Institute is a non-profit research lab working to ensure that both AI and future economic systems are built and deployed with genuine human objectives at their core, enabled by broad public input, free markets and scalable cooperation.
The organization collaborates with and employs working groups of academics, scientists, economists, entrepreneurs, and government officials. Our team builds tools and develops research that facilitates the pursuit beneficial systemic objectives - at the intersection of democracy, markets and AI progress.
The work falls into four broad categories:
• Governance with AI: Scaling cooperation
• Alignment of markets, AI and other optimizers
• Human (dis)empowerment and structural risks
• AI in the Global Supply Chain
We outline our approach in the whitepaper and the research blog.
